The annoying thing about not being able to discharge your actual firearm at all at the moment is that you can easily encounter more fleeing suspects during a shift that refuse to comply when you aim at them, than there are shots available in your stun gun. True but even so As a police sim the occasional shootout is necessary lol

But I wouldn't call it a priority, and if and when they do add shootouts, I really hope they don't become a daily thing. Their exceptional rarity is precisely what makes shootouts so newsworthy when they happen, which in turn tricks people into thinking that they are commonplace.Īll that said, I personally do hope the devs eventually get around to adding situations where discharging guns is warranted, or at least acceptable. So while it is true that a significant minority of cops do see shootouts at least once during their decades-long careers, that shouldn't imply that shootouts are not even remotely common in American cities. Originally posted by Spark Sunbright:Note that even in large American cities, statistical surveys show that only 30% of police officers have ever fired their weapon in the line of duty, meaning that the remaining 70% of them have NEVER ONCE fired their guns in their entire careers (up to the time of the survey, of course).
